Jason Philip Russell was born in Cobourg, Ontario, Canada in 1970. He graduated with a PhD in Physics in 2001 from the University of Western Ontario. He is married to his wife, BJ and they have 6 children.
As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Jason has served as a seminary teacher and in numerous bishoprics. He served a full-time 2 year mission for his Church in Finland and has served as a bishop to a congregation of Saints in Hampton, New Brunswick for over 6 years.
